A big accident in KPOP fan world happened yesterday because of high tension between VIP, fans of Bigbang and EXO-L, fans of EXO, during online music competitions. We are not big fan of both group, but seeing this accident happen in times, intrigue us to write this review.
Both Bigbang’s songs and EXO’s songs are topping music charts, consecutively sit on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th position. Bigbang put their song’s ‘Bang Bang Bang’ and ‘I Like 2 Party’ into competition, while EXO put ‘ Love Me Right’ both ini Korean and Chinese version in the competition.
While position of songs are still changing, EXO’s Chanyeol set opponent fans on fire by uploading a capture of EXO’s song sat on top position of music chart while Bigbang song is in between. It insulted VIP because the competition is still running but Chanyeol had capture it as EXO already win the competition. VIP started dissing the rapper because the competition still run and Bigbang songs and EXO’s are rapidly changes on number 1 position. Then Bigbang’s G-Dragon also uploaded a picture of Bigbang songs which is lead EXO-L to do the same as VIP. In this situation whether G-dragon put only Bigbang name on it or else, it was still insult opponent fans and they flooded G-Dragon’s Instagram with attacking words.

As public figure they should think deeply before make a post on social media since it easily insult fans and change it into fan war. And EXO-L should not make hating comments on G-Dragon post because he only put Bigbang songs on it without putting other group in it, so it supposed not to lead other fans to give him dissing comments. EXO-L even took extremely post by planning to bomb Bigbang concert, which is a crime act. As you can see below, a fan of EXO wrote on social media to treat Bigbang with bomb.
It is ungodly and unfair for everyone, even for EXO itself. By spreading threat like that, the EXO-L had destroy their name in Kpop fandom society, at the same time destroy image of their idol, EXO. It was too far from fan-girling, some people called it with obsession. If they can do crime to make their idol win or to defend their idol, then it becomes unhealthy support. Even their idol don’t accept something like this because at the same time fans’s act crush the idol too.
VIP take this treat seriously and had ask YG Entertainment and Philippines’s local promoter to take further action to make Bigbang do their show safely.
Other than this accident, young fandom such EXO-L repeatly done ungodly action when they don’t like other artist or they think artist’s act insult them, or when they are competing in music chart. They talk bad about the artist, take it further to make hundred foul comments on artist’s social media account, create fan war and recently they audaciously threat other artist.
We’ve been become Kpop music lovers since 2008 and have been watching Korean dramas since 2002 but we still make boundaries for how far we can fangirling over an idol. We are supporters, fans, some old fans also called as friends, so we know what we should do and what we don’t have to do. We don’t do things that will harm our artist, we joke in boundary not crossing the line. Of course we fight to support them, also do fan war when it comes to music competition but never take it to harm or threat other party.
As older fans, I think young fans should learn from us, from older fans, how to do fangirling not put obsession over an idol. Idols are human too same like us, not God or angel. Yes sometimes we are happy only to see them smile or by looking at their pictures, sometimes they give us inspiration to do better in life but they don’t own our life like we don’t own their lives. As veteran idol, Shinhwa’s Dongwan said ‘SHINHWA IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR LIFE!”. The words are hurts but he waking up us to be more aware of our real life.
We happy when our idols are happy, we sad when they sad, sometimes when they got into problems we voluntary help them to solve the problem. But there are times when they want to enjoy their moments in private and we have to honor their privacy. We also have to honor our lives by not making reckless action because we want to give everything for idol we like. We have to be a mature fans who realize that there are things we should not do such as harassing other artist, scamming, stalking, harming ourselves, do crime, threat people, it was too far from love, too far from fan-girling. As we said before, if we do these harmful things it will add burden for the idol. It gives them pressure. It means we are not supporting them, instead we let them die with our obsession.
Please realize this dear friends. Please think deeply before you act or write something on our idol social media. No matter how far your love for idol, you have to put boundaries so you won’t harming someone you like.
